Winter Schools and Workshops 2008
Introduction to Jewellery Making 1 will explore the fundamentals of making jewellery. Techniques learnt will include saw piercing, doming/forming, soldering and polishing. Introduction to Jewellery Making 2 enhances the skills acquired doing Jewellery Making 1. Students have the opportunity to design and make a series of sterling silver rings and will learn to generate innovative ideas which combine creativity with functionality. Both courses are of 25 hours duration each and are held on Saturdays in the Jewellery and Object Design Department Workshop at the Design Centre in Enmore. The USQ McGregor Winter School has grown out of the enormous success of the celebrated USQ McGregor Summer Schools and is now in its 21st year. Creative and visual artists and craftspeople will converge on the beautiful USQ campus in Toowoomba for the popular arts residential school. Release your inner artist through painting, etching, sculpture, jewellery or digital photography at USQ's Toowoomba campus or join us the following week for Mcgregor on the Bay Masterclasses in Hervey Bay.

Sturt at Mittagong is well known all over Australia for its high quality exhibitions and courses in fine craft and art. Sturt Winter School will be a week long event for students of all ages and abilities, to be enriched by a week of learning with fellow enthusiasts and tutors of the highest calibre.
