2005 Young and emerging artist mentorships
The mentorship provides an opportunity to explore new artistic directions, to expand technical skills and increase knowledge of business practice. Applicants are invited to select a mentor and develop a program of activity as part of the Australia Council 2005 Emerging Artists Initiatives.

Community Heritage Grants 2005   Closes 10 June
Grants of up to $10,000 are available to support preservation projects undertaken by community organisations such as local historical societies, regional museums, public libraries and Indigenous and migrant community groups, which hold cultural heritage collections of national significance. Applications are available from the National Library's website

2005 Incoming Touring Exhibition Grant   Closes 1 July
MGnsw invites applications from NSW visual art organisations and craft and design centres for the Incoming Touring Exhibition Grant. Priority under this program is to provide rural and remote organisations with access to high quality visual arts and craft exhibitions which they might not otherwise be able to bring to their community due to cost or distance. The 2005 Ranamok Glass Prize   Closes 30 June
An annual glass prize with a $10,000 acquisitive award for glass artists who are resident in Australia and New Zealand. The Ranamok Glass prize winner will be announced 25th August at Craft ACT. Entry form can be downloaded from the Ranamok website

Sidney Myer Fund International Ceramics Award   Closes 1 September
Organised by the Shepparton Art Gallery the Sidney Myer Fund International Ceramics Award is now calling for entries. Entry forms can be downloaded from the Shepparton Art Gallery website

2006 Anne and Gordon Samstag International Visual Arts Scholarships   Closes 30 June
Tuition, travel and US$30000 stipend for students and recent graduates. Visit the Samstag website for guidelines

The Harries National Digital Art Prize   Closes 10 June
The Harries are a major $8,000 acquisitive prize for Australian artists. Harries entires should explore ideas of the human form with an understanding of how it relates to technology and/or traces threads through time and space. Download entry form from The Harries website

The Blake Prize   Closes 14 October
Entries are now invited for The Blake Prize for Religious Art with prize money for 2005 increased to $15,000. Entries are now available from the The Blake Prize website

Artworkers Award 2005   Closes 8 August
The Artworkers award 2005 is a $5000 acquisitive prize open to all artists living in Queensland, practising in any medium. Entry forms are available from Artworkers website

M1 Singapore Fringe Festival 2006  Closes 15 July

Scarf Festival opportunity
An opportunity exists for you to demonstrate your craft practice as part of the window collaboration for the Scarf Festival, at Craft Victoria. Camden Head Pilot Station Residency   Closes 1 August
The Community Cultural Development section of the Australia Council is seeking applications for the 2006 and 2007 Camden Head Pilot Station Residency Program from community cultural development artists across the country. Visit the Camden Head Pilot Station website

Artist Residency in Malaysia   Closes 29 July
Applications are invited from Australian artists who would be interested in working in Malaysia at Rimbun Dahan, just outside Kuala Lumpur. The year long residency provides a return economy air fare, accommodation and studio space, a monthly allowance of RM 2,000 to cover living and materials, and a joint exhibition with the Malaysian artist at the end of the residency.
