Talente 2006   Closes 16 September
The Jam Factory (SA) is calling for young artists to nominate themselves for consideration in the Talente 2006 exhibition in Germany. Coordination of the Australian entries to Talente 2006 will be by The Jam Factory on behalf of the Visual Arts and Craft Board and nominations will be sent to the German jury for final inclusion. Artists must be under 30 for craft entries and under 35 for artists working with technology. Email Sophia Travers for guidelines. Also  read Young Talent Time

$50 000 Cromwell's Art Prize Closes 9 September
The $50,000 Cromwell's Art Prize was established in 2004 as an opportunity for those emerging and mid-career artists to produce museum-quality works, and have them toured nationally and internationally in the prize's exhibition. For guidelines and entry form visit Cromwell's Art Prize website

Victorian Indigenous Art Awards   Closes 10 August
Arts Victoria invites Indigenous artists living in Victoria to submit artwork for the 2005 Victorian Indigenous Art Awards (VIAA). In 2005 there will be two non-acquisitive prizes awarded - Deadly Art Award - open $10,000 cash prize and professional development support to the value of $5,000 and Lin Onus Award - awarded to an artist who is 30 years of age or less. $3,000 cash prize and art materials up to the value of $2,000. Noise   Closes 31 August
Noise is a major national youth arts initiative that develops and profiles young artists and their work on radio, television, in print and online. All young artists, 25 and under, are invited to submit art in all forms. Submissions this year can be eligible for the Qantas Spirit of Youth Awards (SOYA). Artists can receive $10,000 in cash and flights, plus mentorship with industry experts. Visit the NOISE website

Fringe furniture   Closes 6 August
A dynamic exhibition of contemporary furniture by interior, industrial and furniture designers, architects and artists. Entries are accepted from all over Australia, and the results will be displayed at the Melbourne Museum from 23 September - 9 October. Entry forms available from Melbourne Fringe website

Asialinks Arts Management Program   Closes 2 September
The Asialink Arts Management Program offers opportunities for the development and sharing of skills, ideas and networks across and within Asia and Australia. These opportunities are available for arts managers working across all art form areas including visual and performing arts, literature, festivals and technology. Visit Asialink website

Laneway Commissions 2006   Closes 29 August
Artists are invited to submit proposals for a contemporary artwork to form part of the Laneway Commissions 2006 season. The City of Melbourne is seeking innovative and inspiring works which will engage the public and use Melbourne's distinct urban setting. A notional budget of $30,000 is available for each project. All applicants must obtain a project brief available from City of Melbourne website

2005 Premier's NSW Exporter of the Year Awards Closes 26 August
The Australian Institute of Export invites NSW exporters to enter 2005 Premier's NSW Exporter of the Year Awards. The awards recognise and celebrate the outstanding success of NSW exporters across a range of sectors. Entry is open to exporting companies of all sizes, from all parts of NSW. Export Market Development Grants (EMDG)
The Export Market Development Grants (EMDG) scheme is the Australian Government's principal financial assistance program for aspiring and current exporters. The scheme is administered by Austrade and is aimed at encouraging small and medium sized Australian businesses to develop export markets. Visit Austrade website

Festivals Australia regional residencies   Closes 30 September
The Department of Communications, Information Technology and the Arts, invites applications from communities, arts and cultural organisations and local councils organising festivals and events for the Festivals Australia Regional Residency Program. The successful applicants will receive funding to allow an artist or arts group to live and work within the community to develop an artistic expression of their story or stories.
